Mo Collins of Iowa and Florida, is a consultant, speaker and trainer serving rural communities, women-owned business and technology startup/scaleups.
Collins held progressive, senior-level roles at the University of Northern Iowa for nearly two decades building multiple tech-based programs to serve entrepreneurs and small business. She directed the regional SBDC, launched two business incubator programs and was tapped to serve as UNI’s inaugural Technology Transfer Director in 2012. She led the university’s disaster recovery efforts to small business in 2008 and 2010, and served as a disaster recovery specialist for the International Economic Development Council.
Mo has earned more than a dozen personal and professional awards for her work from state, national and international organizations. Since leaving the University in 2014, Collins has dedicated her time to serving the unique needs of rural communities, entrepreneurs and small businesses at GrowHome; she trains between 200-300 economic development professionals annually in the building of entrepreneurial ecosystems.
